I've seen the detailed analysis of two-handed light weapons vs rapier and know that by choosing the latter, I may be decreasing my DPR. I would also like to take Booming Blade and use it to boost dps (my increased crit chance makes this very appealing as I can roll BB's damage dice twice). I'm going to take Find Familiar (Owl) for constant tri-vantage until I can use Mage Hand Legerdemain's bonus action. I intend to get Elven Accuracy at level 4 for 18 Dex, ASI at level 8 for 20 Dex, and Sentinel at level 10 for Mirror Image + Sentinel Sneak Attack.

I'm now playing a Dex-based Wood Elf Arcane Trickster 1 but I'm not sure about which melee weapon I should use. be inventive.Hello, everyone! I appreciate the useful feedback that I've received in my other threads. This is flavour, but do you then let your players try grapple people if they were lassoed? It will only hold till the concentration breaks, but maybe it takes someone out of the fight - the enemy makes checks to escape, taking damage on each fail? If you are DMing and think a spell is soft, give your players explicit permission to play around with it. It takes a bonus actoin to reel it back up, but you can attack again. The thing to remember is that the spell's ballence is only tied up with the mechanics: proficient, dex based, 20/60ft range if thrown. There are certain conditions under which I let players concentrate on more than one spell (powerful single use magical items, or high level features for homebrewed prestige classes). An arcane trickster could also do quite well with it, pilling sneak damage on top etc.Īs a DM, I'm up for letting people play around. My DM is cool with me casting it as a sort of glave or cavalry lance i have designs on stealing a certain steed. I asked mine if I could cast it through my staff (rod of the pactkeeper, gift from his patron, Auberon). (Throw in Fey Presence and Misty Escape and, squishy as I am, i can be a deamon on the battlefeild).

Lots of fighting in dark areas, I cast blink (which isn't conc) then this uses both my spell slots, but gives me good change to avoid being hit (i have warcaster, as you mentioned), so I can harry my enemies pretty well. Player: I'm an archfey warlock in CoS - so it's kinda beautiful for me. My thoughts as a player and my thoughts as a DM are a little different. So, initially I hadn't realsied it was concentration.
